10 Best Indoor Portland Wedding Venues for the Rainy Season

You know what they say, “rain on your wedding day is good luck!” That may be true, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you want to end up drenched while you’re all dolled up! We all know that Oregon weather can be pretty fickle, especially during the Winter months. Oftentimes people opt to get married during the summer months so that they can take advantage of the beautiful outdoor landscape that Portland has to offer. But there are definitely some perks to getting married during what’s considered the “off season” or usually from November through May. For one, it’s usually cheaper to book during this time!

But a new thing we’ve been having to deal with here in the Pacific Northwest are those sweltering hot days. I know nobody wants a repeat of the 115 degree weekend we had in 2021, yikes. So maybe you’re thinking you’d prefer an indoor venue with AC to boot. We’ve got some options for you.

These venues also usually offer wide open spaces that really lends itself for a creative eye and creating whatever your heart desires.

1. Castaway

Speaking of blank spaces, Castaway is the ideal venue to create whatever your heart desires. Located in the Pearl District parking can be a little difficult at times but it gets bonus points for being easy to access via lyft or uber so your guests can carpool safely! This space boasts 10k square feet and has both central heating AND cooling, making it an ideal location for not just the Winter months but also for those sweltering hot days. Castaway is probably one of my favorite indoor Portland wedding venues for all seasons.

2. Tendue 

Tendue is a mid-sized venue located in inner Eastside Portland that’s designed to blend Parisian-inspired textures and tones with the hundred-year-old warehouse. This space is fully furnished but allows the capability to create the space of your dreams. The North-facing windows also lends itself to having the dreamiest natural light that your photographer will thank you for.

3. Easton Broad

Located in Northeast Portland just blocks from the Moda Center, Easton Broad is a brand new venue boasting an industrial-modern space. This venue has 2300 square feet and an open layout, including a built in bar. The venue is filled with natural light thanks to it’s over 100 ft of floor to ceiling windows.

4. Blockhouse

Tucked away inside of Pomarius Nursery and with its open kitchen, Blockhouse was designed for intimate gatherings and lavish parties in mind. Blockhouse is the sister venue to Castaway and is located right next door to it in the Pearl District. If possible, I HIGHLY recommend including access to the Pomarius Nursery Canopy for your event for added space and some truly stunning photos in the nursery.

5. The Evergreen

The Evergreen is another beautiful open layout venue that can sustain a 550 person capacity or a 200 person seated dinner. This venue merges new with old, modern with classic, comfort with elegance. The best part? You get easy access to Loyal Legion, Oregon’s premier beer hall, located directly below, with access to over 100 beers on tap.

6. Coopers Hall

The flagship urban winery venue located in the Industrial District of SE Portland. This venue was a former body shop and is now stunning event space/taproom. One of its most notable features is the wall of wine barrels decorated with hanging greenery that creates an ideal backdrop for your wedding ceremony and reception. The walls of floor to ceiling windows doesn’t hurt either with some stunning natural lighting.

7. Union/Pine

I think you’re getting the picture, but the beauty of these places really is the flexible layouts! Located in Central Eastside Portland, Union/Pine says on their website that they have “been crafted as a hub for creativity, love, and a really good time.” You can’t argue with that! They boast two venues in one with the Main Venue and The Loft located on the second floor.

9. Leftbank Annex

Combining a sleek infrastructure with the raw, industrial elements of a pre-war building, the Leftbank Annex can transform into anything you can imagine. They have two floors of usable space including The Greatroom, The Mezzanine, and The Clubroom.

10. University Club of Portland

Steeped in history, The University Club is elegance in the Heart of Downtown with a reputation for elegance and fine service. UC  is a Tudor style venue that can accommodate big or small wedding parties. They’re known for it’s sophisticated ambiance and graceful elegance at an affordable price. You can rent the entire Clubhouse at an all-inclusive price that includes the Tudor-style dining room that can fit up to 150 guests, the Groomsmen Room, separate rooms for the bride and groom, and an elegant Juliet balcony.
