Where you invest your love, you invest your life

      All-Inclusive Wedding Day Storytelling

      BOOK NOW

Love is love and love is the most beautiful thing in the world. It brings out all the raw and amazing emotions that a person can experience and I think that’s something to be celebrated.

Let’s get real for a minute.

As a woman of color I’m aware of the microaggression and other systematic barriers that some couples have experienced while planning their wedding. I’m also a proud supporter and ally of the LGBTQ+ community. If you are a part of a marginalized community and have a tight budget, let’s talk about it.

Supporting you and living the values that are most important to me is more meaningful than prices set in stone.

Above all else, I want us all to feel celebrated, included, and witnessed. You deserve it everyday, but let’s make absolute certain it happens on your wedding day.

I couldn’t be more honored that you’re considering me to be the one to help capture your love. So reach out!

As Frank Ocean says, “I believe that marriage isn’t between man and woman but between love and love.”
      LGBTQ+, all races, inclusive.

To be able to photograph people on such an enormously important life event is an endless blessing and I am constantly humbled. Because “in the vastness of space and the immensity of time…” you found one another. I believe in love, above all things it is the most raw and beautiful to me. My aspiration as a photographer and storyteller is to capture all of the crazy emotions that run wild and help you relive them for years to come.

Above all else, I’m a hopeless romantic that loves stories. I would love it if you shared yours so we could create some beautiful imagery together.

So here I am. I’m Marcela and I would love to take your photo.

      OH FAQ!

      • Where do you call home?

Home is Southeast Portland in the state of Oregon, West Coast of the USA, Planet freakin' Earth.

      • HELP! We feel super awkward in front of the camera, what do we do?

I can't help but smile whenever clients tell me this because listen, I GET IT! Getting your photo taken is a weird and vulnerable experience. But it all comes down to trust. Trust me and my vision and we can absolutely have fun with it and get some badass photos together. I'm not even lying when I say 95% of my clients, of the people who's photos you see on this website, said the exact same thing. So don't worry, I gotchu. :)

      • Do you travel for weddings and other sessions?

Oh HELL yes, I do! Not only do I travel for weddings but engagement sessions and vow renewals too! Personally, I can't get enough of travel and am restless enough that I've lived all over the West Coast and even lived out of a van for a few months while I road tripped through the Southwest. For the last 3 years I've made it a point to celebrate my birthday in February (Pisces, what's up) by visiting a new country. So if you're looking to book a travel session with no fees then hop on over to my Travel Dates section and see where I'm going to next!

      • Do we need a second shooter?

For the most part, I've shot enough weddings and have enough experience that I feel confident in my abilities to capture your day. That being said, if you have anything over 150+ guests then a second shooter would definitely come in handy. With that many people running around it helps with having an extra set of eyes to capture all the little details and moments.

      • How many images can we expect?

For a full wedding day I usually say you can expect roughly 100 images per hour of coverage (so 600 images for 6 hours of coverage) but definitely 400+.
For an elopement session you can expect 150+ images.
For an engagement session I usually deliver 60+ images.

Each session is delivered via an online downloadable gallery.

      • How far in advance should we book?

Anywhere between 8-18 months is ideal! Yes, we wedding photographers book out roughly a year in advance. That being said, it never hurts to reach out and ask! It's certainly not uncommon to book something at the last minute.

      • What's your photography style?

I really pride myself on having vibrant, earthy and warm tones in my work. Between the fads of bright and airy or dark and moody, I'd say I'm somewhere happily in between.

My shooting style is more documentary based with a photojournalistic eye coupled with some artistic portraiture to create well-balanced gallery that beautifully captures the story of your wedding day.

      • When can we expect to get our images?

I know you're super excited to see your images... and I'm just as excited to share them with you! Wedding images are delivered within 8 weeks of your wedding date and all other sessions are delivered within 4 weeks.

      • Can we provide a shot list?

If I'm looking at (and thinking about) a shot list on the day it's going to take away from my creative flow and focus of what's happening in front of me. Let me do my thang and focus on telling your wedding story exactly as it unfolds.

      • Do you shoot video?

I'm afraid not, shooting photo is my main focus and jam. But if you're looking for a videographer I'm happy to offer up a list of some dope people I've worked with in the past!
