Yosemite Elopement Photographer | Alexi & Jeremy

Alexi and Jeremy, holy moly. What a gorgeous pair these two are, completely, both inside and out. Inspired by the grandeur that is Yosemite National Park, they opted to make their first trip to the park an absolutely memorable one by eloping. They trusted my prior knowledge of the park from when I worked there for a season and we worked together to figure out exactly where their ceremony spot would be.

We met up in the Valley and wandered through the meadows, chatting about life and ideologies. These two, they just get it. We discussed how the core of everything that we do should be based in love. Everything that you put out into the universe should be drenched in beauty and kindness and as a result the universe will return the favor to you. So onwards we trekked up to the vista point where they had their ceremony, where tears were shed as they exchanged their vows during sunset, just these two lovers, their uncle who was officiating, their aunt and me. Our own lovely little universe of our own sharing in this tremendously meaningful moment.

Afterwards we grabbed a beer and celebratory desserts at the Mountain Room Lodge at the Yosemite Valley Lodge where we were welcomed by cheering and ecstatic, ever-loving employees at the lodge (shoutout to the wonderful Erik and Jo!). We were just completely immersed in love from all sides. Once they left, Jo told me a little story; about how not too long ago a very dear friend of hers passed away at Taft Point while BASE jumping and how every time she thought of that spot she was filled with sadness. When Jeremy and Alexi walked in she already knew their plan to elope from the night before when we chatted then. She told me how once she saw them she froze for just a second, just stood in shock and dissonance at the sheer beauty of this loving couple and what had just transpired between them in that same exact place. For a moment she was caught in between sadness and celebration, but she said that going forward she would always remember Alexi and Jeremy when she thinks back to that place, that day, that spot, and all the tremendous beauty that we partook in. If that isn’t just the most beautiful dichotomy and sentiment about life…
